Barrage in Rahughat Hydroelectric project in NEPAL

iValue team finalized the Detailed design of Barrage of 40MW Rahughat Hydro Electric Project (RGHEP), located in Myagdi district, Western Development Region of Nepal. The Project envisages utilization of the water of river Rahuganga for power generation on a runoff the river scheme.

The scope of iValue included optimization and finalization of Barrage General Arrangement, Review of Model Study Report of Barrage, Review of Geotechnical Investigation Report for finalization of parameters and consequent Structural Design of Barrage.

The above project in Nepal is under construction by Jaypee Group of India and iValue supported Jaypee design wing. The Barrage reinforced concrete design was carried out in STAAD software at iValue considering Civil loads, base rock properties and HM loads in confirmation to inputs provided by the client (Jaypee).

The detailed civil designs of RCC structure were submitted finally to Wapcos (Owner’s Engineer). Based on review and observations of Wapcos, Designs were revised/updated as per discussions during meetings and in compliance to observations issued to Jaypee by Wapcos.

RCC construction of Barrage started in 2nd half of 2023 and construction is nearing completion. Part of the constructed portion is already being used for discharge diversion at site.
