Hualtu Tuikhuah Dam (Mizoram, India) – Upstream reservoir and Earthen Dam in view
Detailed design for Earthen Dam with all ancillary structures (in respect of Alternative Water Supply Scheme (15MLD) of Aizawal in state of Mizoram, India) was assigned to iValue Advisors in 2019-20 by M/S Kram Infratech (EPC contractor of the project). The project was being developed by Public Health Engineering Government Department of Mizoram. The design of dam has been carried out considering hydraulic and stability aspects. The hydraulic design comprises of finalization of design flood, spillway capacity and intake discharging capacity. The stability aspect comprises of carrying out Stability Analysis of the Earthen dam under various reservoir operating conditions ensuring the Codal requirements.
The above assignment incorporated Stability Analysis, Core & Casing provisions, Filter provisions & Drainage arrangements, Proposal of Cutoff, Finalizing Grouting proposal as per field lugeon values, Design of Chute Spillway & stilling basin for expected discharges, Provision of Clear Water outlets to enable supply of water from upstream reservoir and provision of under sluice for silt removal and emptying of reservoir.

iValue expert team visited site for analyzing related construction aspects and finalizing layout etc. The designs were approved by state government department team. The Earthen Dam with all appurtenant works has been constructed. Spillway is already in operation now & functioning well to discharge the surplus water perfectly as per finalized designs.
Based on merits of above finalization, Client also awarded additional consultancy services for Detailed Designs of RCC Water Tank (32.8 Lakh Litre Capacity) for Water Supply Scheme of the capital of Mizoram and the designs were successfully completed by iValue and the construction has also been done at site.
